Based in Pelham, Alabama, Duncan & Dearmon Building Company is a fully licensed general contractor that handles commercial construction projects of all sizes.

Founded by industry veterans Tommy Duncan and John Ed Dearmon, who bring more than 60 years of combined experience, our company was built on a shared vision to raise the standard of quality, safety, and service in the construction industry.

We approach every project with integrity, clear communication, skilled craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing what we say we will do. From start to finish, our goal is to exceed expectations and deliver lasting value for every client.

Tommy Duncan, Managing Member

Tommy Duncan

Managing Member

Mr. Duncan graduated in 1979 with a B.S. in Building Science from Auburn University, where he later went on to serve as a member of the Industry Advisory Council. In 1994, Mr. Duncan was awarded the Subcontractors Association of Alabama Outstanding Project Manager of the Year Award, and was subsequently awarded the ASA General Contractor of the Year Award in 2000, 2007, and 2011.

Mr. Duncan possesses 30 years’ experience as a General Contractor, managing hundreds of construction projects ranging upwards of $25,000,000 in individual contract amounts. His experience in managing a wide variety of commercial construction and design-build projects including medical facilities, retail centers, hotels, office buildings, manufacturing plants, restaurants, federal government buildings, religious centers, and warehouse facilities makes him uniquely qualified to serve any needs our clients may have.

Tommy has been married to his high school sweetheart, Kim, for 48 years and they have three children and three grandchildren together.

John Ed Dearmon, Managing Member

John Ed Dearmon

Managing Member

Mr. Dearmon graduated with Highest Honors from Auburn University in 2005 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering (Chi Epsilon International Civil Engineering Honor Society) and a Minor in Business.

Over the past twenty years, Mr. Dearmon has meticulously estimated and managed projects with an unwavering commitment to quality including retail, hospitality, multi-family, commercial office, skilled nursing, assisted living, industrial, and automotive developments. He is skilled in all project delivery types such as negotiated, hard-bid, select private-bid, and design-build ventures.

Mr. Dearmon’s approach to design-build and negotiated projects allows for a non-departmentalized experience for all participants, which yields a proven success rate with repeat clients. Mr. Dearmon seamlessly navigates projects while maintaining a strong commitment to his client’s needs.

As an estimator, he has exceptional skills to visualize the sequence, materials, labor and supervision needs required to successfully construct projects with accuracy. Mr. Dearmon’s ability to navigate complex projects with clear direction and open communication is unmatched.

Senior Project Manager

Robert made the decision to follow in his father’s footsteps in the construction industry, and prides himself in having gained valuable hands-on experience working in the field prior to moving into operations.

After graduating from Auburn University in 2005, he has created a 20-year track record of well-executed projects with experience in various sectors including office, retail, healthcare, educational, municipality, churches and food service.

Robert has an exceptional ability to effectively communicate with his clients in order to fully understand their individual needs and goals. He manages each and every project with immense attention to detail and flawless accuracy, while maintaining a strong commitment to providing his clients the utmost satisfaction throughout every phase.

Judy has worked under the tutelage of Tommy Duncan for nearly two decades. She pours her heart into everything she does, always making sure the finished product is meticulous.

Judy’s vast industry knowledge, unparalleled experience, and ability to form relationships with everyone she comes across makes her a key team member.

Judy’s favorite place is the “Loveliest Village on the Plains,” and watching the eagle fly before football games brings her to tears.

Sisily graduated Summa Cum Laude from Jefferson State Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology.

Sisily has worked in the construction industry for over seventeen years in various roles such as finance, project management, and administration, making her a very well-rounded and knowledgeable asset to the Duncan & Dearmon team.

Sisily is a ball of energy with a bubbly personality, and to know her is to love her!

Spencer Hobaugh

Superintendent

Spencer graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Business Management. Spencer, an Indiana native, has been a Superintendent for nearly ten years and is OSHA-30 Certified.

Spencer’s natural intuition and foresight help him to see what others cannot, ensuring a successful project from commencement to completion.

In his off time, Spencer (a former athlete, himself) enjoys coaching his son and daughter in travel baseball and softball.

Jerry Nabors, Superintendent

Jerry Nabors

Superintendent

Inheriting his father’s “building genes,” Jerry was destined to enter the construction profession. For the past 40 years, Jerry has crafted his techniques and fine-tuned his skills as a talented and seasoned Superintendent.

Jerry was awarded Superintendent of the Year for the State of Alabama in 1998 and 1999.

Jerry is a Cordova, Alabama native and when he is not working, he enjoys watching Alabama football and fishing on the Warrior River.

Steve Arnold, Superintendent

Steve Arnold

Superintendent

Steve holds Certification as an IBC Building Inspector and has worked as a superintendent for 30 years.

He joined the National Guard in 1981 and served for 25 years where he was trained as a combat lifesaver, weapons armorer, and 31-Romeo. Steve received several Army Achievement Awards, and he and his team took 1st place in the Commanders Cup Competition in Fort Lee, Virginia.

Steve enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his kids and brand-new granddaughter.

Josh Lee

Superintendent

Josh holds an Associate’s of Applied Science Degree in Construction Management. Josh has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years and is skilled in all manners of commercial construction, from renovations to ground-up projects.

His professionalism, standards for quality, and compliance to safety regulations are just a few of Josh’s strengths.

A natural musician, Josh began playing the bass guitar at the age of 13 and has played in cover rock bands. Josh is at his happiest when he is hiking with his wife, daughter, and two stepsons.

John has 37 years’ experience managing and supervising multimillion-dollar commercial and residential construction projects across the Southeast.

John served in the United States Marine Corps, and is a talented musician in a classic rock and roll band.

John’s core values of courtesy, humility, and his gentle disposition make him the epitome of a true Southern gentleman.

Brice Noack, Superintendent

Brice Noack

Superintendent

Brice joined Duncan & Dearmon in January of 2024 as a Superintendent, bringing with him ten years of his knowledge and skills. Brice’s extensive experience includes complete builds for restaurants, industrial, municipal, automotive, and civil installations.

Brice has extensive knowledge of site-development work and excels in leading field operations and solving complex problems when they arise. Brice works with an unmatched vigor and zeal, and has exceptional attention to detail. He is quick on his feet, holds OSHA-30 Certification, and takes immense pride in everything he does.

Brice is one of twelve children and has been married to the love of his life for three years.

Randal Eades Superintendent

Randal Eades

Superintendent

Randal has over 40 years’ experience supervising the construction of countless hotels, banks, offices, warehouses, apartments, townhomes, multi-family, and healthcare projects ranging upwards of $100 million in single contract amounts.

Randal is highly skilled and extensively knowledgeable professional who holds OSHA-30 Certification.

Randal has been happily married to his wife for 40 years, and together they have five children, 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, who are their pride and joy!

John Patterson

Foreman/Assistant Superintendent

John has been involved in both residential and commercial construction for over 40 years, in places as far as Albuquerque, New Mexico and as close as Sweet Home Alabama.

John is highly skilled with a strong background in the installation of drywall, metal studs, acoustical ceilings, trim work, and vinyl siding.

John is an avid deer hunter, and appreciates family time with his wife and two daughters.
