FAQs
Have questions about our process or what to expect when working with Duncan & Dearmon? You’ll find answers to the most common topics here.
When should I call you? Should I have design drawings ready?
You should call us the moment you decide that you would like to develop, build, or renovate something you may already own or are planning to purchase. It would be a good idea to either already secure or have an idea of finances available for your venture. If you need help with this, we can help!
Do you just do construction, or can you help me with design and planning?
YES – WE CAN HELP YOU WITH THAT! As well as providing outstanding construction services, we also work hand-in-hand with experience-proven architects, engineers, and specialty designers. You tell us your vision, and we will construct a design team appropriate to your program needs. We also assist with zoning and variance requests, municipal and private architectural plan reviews, and permits acquisition. We are ready to help you with the ENTIRE PROCESS!
I am thinking about building “XYZ.” Can you tell me about how much it will cost?
This is where our Preliminary & Conceptual Budgeting can help. We apply a systematical approach to preliminary and conceptual budgeting that takes a tremendous amount of experience.
Be extremely wary of any contractor who readily provides either square-foot costs or full budget costs without a defined breakdown of major trades. There are many variable factors that affect prices in our industry. Without an applied systematic approach catered to each individual project, it is impossible to provide even an order of magnitude budget.
Do you ever do residential work?
Simply put – No, we do not do residential work.
However, we will be more than happy to refer you to one of our trusted affiliates.
What size jobs are either too big or too small for you?
While we maintain an unlimited bid limit license with the General Contractor’s Board, we like to stay within reasonable bonding coverage.
With an aggregate bonding capacity of $20,000,000, we prefer to maintain a diverse range of contract work at any given time. Sometimes, it is more about the right fit for the job, rather than the contract amount. Please reach out to us, and let’s discuss your program needs to determine if we are a good match.
