24E Health Club

This is a new ground-up project with site work and utilities for a new Class-A health club, complete with full locker rooms, showers, and saunas. The building is a pre-engineered metal building, complete with standing seam roofing and a Simple Saver insulation system. The building is protected with a fire sprinkler system.

There is a large main workout area that is open to the hidden PEMB purlin system, with the creative use of duct sox for HVAC distribution and floating “clouds” for visual effect. The use of Solatube skylights in the open areas aids in bringing more natural light to the main gym floor. Custom wall-to-wall mirrors will be installed in each workout room. Large clear-glazed overhead sectional doors open to some of the workout rooms, along with interior aluminum storefront systems.

Polished and dyed concrete floors are used throughout, except for the locker rooms, which will receive tile flooring and walls. Padded monster tiles and rubber workout flooring will be installed in the high-use areas. There is also a large childcare facility, complete with study areas, play areas, and an infant nursery area. Big-screen TVs will decorate the walls and corners of the main floor.

A smoothie bar and retail area will be constructed in the front of house, and an open-air gathering patio for post-workout cool-down will be installed. Exterior building elements are comprised of special Strukuroc metal building panels, EIFS, brick wainscot, and Hardie panel skins. The front, rear, and side patio areas will receive large aluminum canopies.

The project site required demolition of several older existing buildings, as well as remediation of under-slab soils as planned via geotechnical investigations during preconstruction. A new parking lot, an 80’ flagpole with uplights, parking lot pole lighting, landscaping, two new tournament-sized pickleball courts, perimeter sidewalks, and an artificial turf training area will be installed on the site.

This project is expected to be completed by 04/20/25 for a total construction time of 10 months.
